1. What SwapDex is

SwapDex is an independent software directory that lists, compares, and ranks software tools — with a focus on open-source and self-hostable alternatives to popular products. The directory content is provided free of charge for informational purposes. By using the site you agree to these terms.

2. Editorial independence

Rankings, comparisons, specifications, and verdicts are editorial. Sponsored placements are clearly labeled Featured and never change the editorial data, order, or conclusions on any page. Some outbound links are affiliate links (routed via /go/); this is disclosed in the site footer and does not affect how tools are ranked.

3. Accuracy

We work to keep listings accurate — pricing, licenses, and feature data are curated and GitHub metrics are refreshed on a schedule — but software changes fast. Information is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. Always verify pricing and terms with the vendor before purchasing. All trademarks belong to their respective owners; a listing does not imply any affiliation or endorsement.

4. Sponsorships

Sponsored placements are recurring subscriptions billed via Stripe at the rate shown on the sponsor page at the time of purchase. Your rate is locked for as long as your subscription remains active. Placements go live shortly after payment and are served for the paid period. You can cancel at any time; the placement runs to the end of the period already paid and then expires automatically. Refunds are governed by the refund policy.

We may decline or remove a sponsorship that is unlawful, deceptive, or clearly out of scope for a software directory (with a pro-rated refund of the unused period if we remove it).

5. Submissions

Tool submissions are reviewed before publishing. Submitting a tool grants us the right to list, describe, and link to it. We may edit or decline submissions at our discretion.

6. Acceptable use

Do not scrape at abusive rates, attempt to disrupt the service, or misuse the checkout, submission, or redirect endpoints. Automated abuse is rate-limited and may be blocked.

7. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SwapDex is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the site or from decisions made based on directory content. Total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

8. Changes

We may update these terms; material changes will be reflected by the effective date above. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
